I thought that watching these videos were a great way to see how technology can be vital for students. Especially the one student that used a musical instrument. I never realized how a simple mechanical device could allow a student to play an instrument. I also thought the technology fits the student's person abilities. Some students could only blink and that was a way to operate the computer. I also didn't realize the amount of programs there are for students, and the various schools that use them. For an example, I thought it was interesting how the school in Hawaii used assistive technology to motivate students to find their passion. For Elijah it was a game, therefore it didn't seem as daunting as a typical lesson in school for him.

I thought that this video is helpful because it explains that teachers need to give students a non example so that they do not make the same mistakes over repeatedly. It also shows how assessment is showing the teacher where the student is instead of what problems they get correct on a test.
This video was a great way to explain ideas for furthering expectations in a classroom. The teacher used group work and selecting who was struggling in the classroom to improve their learning.

The new thing that I learned was how a person can overcome their disability by accepting it. Some of the students know that they are being buulied because of their disability. For an example, one student explained how he is often stared at a restaurant. I think as teachers we need to make sure that we are not judgmental or treat students with disabilities differently but help they understand how to be proactive with the abilities that they do have. In the Do it video i learned how technology can still be used with even using an eye twitch. Researchers really want to aid students with assertive technology so that it is easier for students to learn. However, the design of the website is very important for students's so that it's easy to use and that is its effective.

I think that teachers could use blogging as a way to teach students how to write comments while leaving it unanimous. For an example, if a student was shy she or he could have a code name so that other student would not know who the person that commented was. For students with learning disabilities it might help them with spelling and writing more neatly because they are typing instead of hand writing. Some students that struggle with remembering their homework may use texting as a tool for remembering things. Text messaging could replace white boards which might be cheaper and easier to develop data.Teachers could receive the class poll without taking time to do it in class. When student understand the technology that they use, they feel more confident about their personal work.
Yellow Sheet- (first day of class) When I looked at the yellow sheet full of technology devices, I noticed that I was not aware of most of the assistive technology that special educators can use. I think that it would be beneficial to be trained with them while in school so that teacher are more useful in the classroom. I also think that it would be helpful to understand how students can benefit from them as well.
